Locust Post Brewery
About
Locust Post Brewery is a farm brewery and taproom in Little Orleans, set in the wooded hills of Allegany County just off Interstate 68 between Cumberland and Hagerstown. Owners Tony and Denise Cornwell built it themselves on their 26-acre farmstead, using repurposed and upcycled materials and artwork by the couple and other local artists. The name comes from the sturdy Black Locust posts that anchor the hop bines in the fields next to the brewhouse. Tony Cornwell designs the beer with brewer Lincoln Wilkins, who has 15 years of experience, and the rotating lineup leans on traditional European ales and lagers from light to dark, along with American-style IPAs and seasonal beers that sometimes use ingredients from the farm. The taproom also pours local wine and spirits and serves simple food. The property offers a patio, disc golf, camping and a mug club.
