Burley Oak

Burley Oak Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom in Berlin. Founder and owner Bryan Brushmiller, who has deep ties to the Berlin community, turned his homebrewing hobby into a full-time business in 2009, in the middle of the recession. He wanted to create jobs locally and give something back to the town. The brewery describes the taproom as a relaxed place that should feel like having a beer in a friend’s living room. Burley Oak uses both new and traditional brewing methods. The tap list ranges from a light pilsner and a porter to IPAs and triple dry-hopped double IPAs, and the brewery also makes fruited sours. Beyond beer, it makes canned craft cocktails and vodka sold at stores in the region. It runs a cocktail bar on site and hosts workshops, yard parties and other events.
