BAD Alfreds Brewing

Bad Alfred’s is a brewpub and distillery in historic downtown Chestertown. Owners Al and Jennifer Cassinelli founded it in 2018 as Bad Alfred’s Distilling, and it still makes small-batch craft spirits, now alongside a broader menu of cocktails, craft beer and wood-fired pizza. The business occupies a historic former garage and filling station. The open dining room and bar face a glassed-in distillery, so guests can watch spirits being made while they eat, drink or listen to live music. The back of the building has been turned into a private event space with its own bar, dining room and conference area. Visitors who want a closer look can book a private distillery tour and tasting with the brewer and distiller by appointment. House spirits are featured in the cocktails, and the menu centers on pizzas from the wood-fired oven.
