Jailbreak Brewing Company

Jailbreak Brewing Company is a brewery and restaurant in Laurel that opened in 2014 as Howard County’s first production brewery. Founders Kasey and Justin spent years in tech and government contracting before deciding to leave their desk jobs for more creative work. A visit to a craft brewing conference in Washington convinced them, after they saw how much brewery workers enjoyed their jobs. They started homebrewing in Justin’s backyard while they looked for a space, and the side project soon became a full-time commitment. The name refers to breaking out of the nine-to-five grind, with a nod to jailbreaking in the tech world. FoodWorks, added in March 2018, gave the taproom more seats and an open kitchen, and a dry-age program followed in November 2021. The owners want the taproom to be a place where people can escape the daily grind with good company.
