BabyCat Brewery

BabyCat Brewery has taprooms in Kensington and Bethesda. Founder Sam Mussomeli began brewing in his kitchen and then his basement. The brewery is named for Alice, a tuxedo cat he and his wife Megan adopted as the runt of a litter, who stayed small and would sit in the kitchen doorway whenever he brewed. Its taps have included hazy New England and double dry-hopped IPAs, German and Czech pilsners, a hefeweizen, a Vienna lager and a brown ale, plus cider and hard seltzer. The taprooms are casual and family-friendly, and guests can order at the bar, at the counter, from staff or by QR code. The Kensington location has the Cattie Shak food truck, and both taprooms host events and private gatherings.
