Clear Skies Meadery

Clear Skies Meadery is a mead-focused taproom in Rockville started by friends Manisha Eigner and Yancy, who wanted to give the local community a place to gather over food and drink. Yancy began making mead at home, and after Manisha tasted it, the two sketched a business plan at the kitchen table. Little more than a year later, in March 2020, the project moved from a Gaithersburg basement to a 12-tap meadery in the Kentlands. It opened just days before the COVID shutdown, and the owners credit local support with helping it survive. About two years later it expanded to a 28-tap location in Rockville. Manisha previously worked in biotechnology. Assistant brewer Jacob Latour studied environmental science at Juniata College and completed the American Brewers Guild’s brewing science and engineering program. The meadery calls itself a mead specialist.
