Denizens Brewing Company

Denizens Brewing Co. began with a 2012 holiday dinner conversation among founders Emily, Jeff and Julie, sparked by beer Jeff had brought back from his brewery in Colorado. Within a year they had signed a first lease and opened as the first production brewery in Montgomery County, and the founders say their 2013 advocacy helped widen where local craft beer can be sold in Maryland. It has grown from a few brands to more than 200 beers, sold at over 1,500 locations across Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC. In 2019 Denizens expanded into a larger production facility in Riverdale Park, adding an in-house quality testing lab. The Riverdale Park location includes a restaurant with brunch, a beer club, and event space.
