Attaboy Beer

Attaboy Beer is an independent brewery in Frederick that has been open since 2017. It is run by Brian and Carly, who met on a blind date in 2009 that ended with sausages and beers at a beer bar. After years of long commutes, they decided to build something of their own, and the name reflects the idea of a cold beer as a pat on the back after a hard day’s work. The brewery deliberately chose a system small enough to leave room for creativity and experimentation, so the tap list changes often. It covers New England and West Coast IPAs, pilsners, pale ales, lagers and some Belgian styles, with two or three seltzers and hard ciders always pouring. The dog-friendly space includes a garage and a beer garden, and the brewery runs a free, informal weekly run club that earns members merchandise.
