Stone Silo Brewery

Stone Silo Brewery is a farm brewery on a 70-acre property in Damascus. It dates back to 1992, when Don and Susan Katzenberger bought farmland in Damascus to build a family home. Don had wanted to farm since boyhood, and the property grew into a way of life built around crops, animals and community giving. In 2020 the couple bought the neighboring farm, and soon afterward, on an evening walk with a celebratory beer, they decided to open a brewery. They remodeled the farm’s original structures, reusing the old beams. The stone silo, built around 1931, gave the brewery its name, and the main taproom occupies the former milk house of the dairy barn. A newly built production facility on site makes 14 beers, from classic styles to seasonal releases, and the taproom looks out over the farm.
