The Beer Farm

The Beer Farm at Brookeville is a Montgomery County farm brewery built around the idea of combining farming and brewing. Farming began in spring 2014 on the land behind the brewhouse, starting with a hop yard and patches of raspberries and shiitake mushrooms. A second, larger hop yard followed in 2015, along with blueberry and blackberry bushes and beehives for honey. Today, planters around the property grow tomatoes, mint, peppers, herbs and other vegetables that are used in the kitchen. Head brewer and general manager Kenny Borkmann leads the brewing, and the business is co-owned by Phil Muth and Tim McDonnell. The taproom has wood beams, a handcrafted oak bar and a pizza oven for house-made pizzas, and outdoor picnic tables overlook the farm. The brewery is family-friendly and dog-friendly.
