Rockwell Brewery – Broadband Dr

Rockwell Riverside is the second location of Rockwell Brewery, which opened in downtown Frederick in March 2017. It opened in May 2023 and calls itself the largest taproom in Frederick, with 20 taps for specialty beers, a large taproom and private event space. Co-owners Paul Tinney and Matt Thrasher homebrewed together before opening the brewery, inspired by their own beers and Frederick’s growing craft scene. The name nods to Tinney’s background designing acoustic guitars and to a theme that blends craft beer, artistry and music. Head brewer Scott McKernon began homebrewing in the early 1990s and brings a chemistry background and a love of cooking. The beer wall covers stouts, porters, reds, IPAs, blondes and occasional barrel-aged beers. The brewery also serves cocktails, wine and cider, has a pub food kitchen, and hosts live music and food trucks.
